About · Javier Napoles

One person, accountable for the design, the build, and the locks.

I design, build, secure and maintain websites for small businesses from a home office in Stamford, Connecticut. There is no account manager between us and nothing gets subcontracted — the person you email is the person who does the work, in English or Spanish.

From design to the technical side

I started in design — a graphic design degree, then years of photography and print work for businesses that needed logos, brochures, product shots and event coverage. The websites came next, because the same clients kept asking for them, and the technical side followed because nobody else was looking after what we launched.

Today that technical side is most of the job: infrastructure, DNS and certificates, deployments, monitoring, backups that are actually restored, email that is authenticated so it reaches inboxes. I hold CompTIA Security+, the standard certification for defensive security work, and I run my own detection lab at home — a monitored network where I can watch how attacks actually behave before I set up the same logging and alerting for a client.

Why one person

Most small businesses do not need an agency. They need a website that works, an email that is not spoofed, a handful of repetitive tasks taken off the front desk, and someone still answering in year three. Agencies are built for bigger budgets and hand the small accounts to whoever is newest. Freelancers often do one thing well and disappear for the rest.

Argus Digital Works is the alternative I wanted to exist: one accountable professional for strategy, design, build, security and maintenance, with a written scope and a flat quote, and everything — domain, hosting, files — in accounts that belong to you. If we stop working together you lose nothing but me.

How I work

  • In person in Fairfield County. First meetings happen at your business — Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, Greenwich and nearby. Photography, obviously, happens on site.
  • Remote everywhere else. Design, build, security and maintenance are done remotely, with visits when they help. The longest-running client is in Queens, New York.
  • Flat quotes from a written scope. Half to reserve the schedule, the balance at launch, two rounds of revisions at each stage. Every starting price is published.
  • English and Spanish, natively. Meetings, documents, the site itself and support — in whichever language your business runs in, or both.
  • Human control where it matters. Automation and AI tools are built so a person approves anything that touches money, medical detail or a client relationship.

Proof

The clearest evidence is a client site you can open right now: Malcan Physical Therapy, built from scratch in about three weeks in 2023 — photography, Google Business Profile and search setup included — and maintained by me ever since.

Design, photography, video and motion-graphics work lives at javiernapoles.com.
